Knowledge base : Known Issues > I am using a phone but the app shows a landscape UI. Why?

This issue happens on custom ROMs or rooted phones, where you have changed the DPI setting of your phone. The solution is to change your DPI back to default, or use an Xposed module like App Settings to have the DPI set to default just for our app. Read below for an explanation.

On 99% of available phones, the IR Blaster is at the top, and on 99% of the available tablets, the IR Blaster is placed on the side of the tablet. Because of this, it wouldn't make any sense to have a landscape UI on phones, or a portrait UI on tablets.
Our app detects if it's running on a tablet vs phone, by calculating the screen size in inches, and it uses the screen resolution and the DPI to do that.
